WRITTEN FOR THE HUFFINGTON POST

First, I would like to send my condolences to the family's who have lost their loved ones. I am very sorry. To the congress that are debating on taking our guns away, I would like to ask, HOW would that solve anything? The gun that lays there can do nothing of it's own, just like the knife that lays there can do nothing of it's own , just like the baseball bat that lays there can do nothing on it's own , just like a sharpened pen or pencil that lays there can do nothing on it's own and so forth and so on. The power IS NOT in the object, but in who's hands it lies. Should we take away and outlaw everything that can be used as an weapon ? Your car, etc.etc.. EVERYTHING can be used to kill with. The real danger we face, are not in the weapons. The threat of injustice lies in the minds of the people who handle ANY TYPE OF OBJECT, to the detriment of others. Also, it is evident that the government officials ( not all ) use these tragedy's to forward their agendas to their gain. Outlaw knives, baseball bats, pots and pans,, Hell, outlaw kids. It makes about as much sense. Be assured that WHEN you take away the guns , YOU WILL ONLY TAKE THEM AWAY FROM THE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. The people who ARE doing the killings WILL STILL HAVE THEIRS and you will be defenseless.
