DO YOU HAVE A DOOR THAT SWINGS BY ITSELF

If you have a door that was installed wrong in the house and swings by itself when opened, There is a easy fix in most cases. Remove the hinge pins one at a time  with a hammer and a punch, take outside and on the concrete place the pin laying flat and hit in the center with a sharp solid hit with the hammer while being careful not to hit your finger or causing the pin to shoot off. This will cause a small bend in the pin and after replacing the pin into the hinge flaps again, it should stop the swinging, If not, do the same thing on the next hinge pin. Also if the hinge screws are loose and will not tighten, remove the screw and take 3 or 4 toothpicks ( wooden ) and bunch them together and shove into the existing screw hole after dipped in some wood glue. Break off excess toothpicks and replace screw. If you have no glue , the process without the glue still works but it is better with glue.    Ted
